Plasma nitriding is an advanced surface treatment process conducted in a nitrogen-based gas atmosphere (0.1\u201310 Pa). When a high DC voltage is applied\u2014with the furnace acting as the anode and the workpiece as the cathode\u2014a glow discharge occurs, enveloping the part in a soft neon-like light.<\/p>\n

Ionized gas particles are accelerated toward the component surface, generating heat and initiating a nitriding reaction through ion bombardment and sputtering. This physical interaction differs fundamentally from traditional nitriding methods using ammonia or cyanide compounds.<\/p>\n
